seismic monitoring power systems

The IRIS system, shown in production stage, has a foil insulated electronics compartment, room for four 110Ah batteries, instruments and satellite communication uplink.

Climate change, seismic monitoring, weather data, and even wild life populations are still collected and monitored “on the ground”. Highly sensitive devices monitor the earth’s vibrations, temperatures, solar radiation, evaporation rates, and many other factors that scientists use to study and predict changes in our environment.

Solarcraft has built a number of instrument systems for the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology, or IRIS. http://www.iris.edu/stations/

These systems are part of a larger network of seismic monitoring systems deployed worldwide to measure and predict earthquake and volcanic events.
