When we build a solar power system, it is rarely a standard, off-the-shelf solution. Instead, it is a process of defining loads and site variables, equipment, access, and more, to deliver the best power solution for our customer.

Solarcraft’s conservative approach to calculating load, battery autonomy, and potential sun hours ensures continuous operation during the winter or periods of bad weather. Our sales engineers work closely with you to deliver the most reliable, cost effective power solution for your application. The process goes something like this:

• Your system’s load profile, potential sun hours (solar insolation), and battery autonomy are defined and calculated. The system is sized, and the enclosure model is determined according to battery requirements.
• Our standard rugged enclosures house both the electronics equipment and the batteries. After mapping the space needed for electronics and other equipment, we establish the backplane size, which then determines the final enclosure.
• The number and size of solar panels to generate your electric power is calculated using our Solar Sizing Matrix. Battery size is calculated in much the same way, using a number of factors to determine efficiency.
• Lastly, we package your system to suit the particular site and installation requirements. Powder coated aluminum or stainless steel, sun shades, array design, hardware requirements, onsite mounting preference, conduit holes, and more, are finalized.

Whenever possible, we encourage customers to come to our facility to inspect the progress of their power system throughout the manufacturing process. Important design decisions are refined during these mutually beneficial visits.
