Battery Storage & Renewable Energy Storage Enclosures
Utility Grid Load Shifting
Solarcraft builds Interconnect systems for load-shifting battery installations in Texas. Load shifting is explained as managing electricity load demands on the utility grid by storing electricity in large battery banks known as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The batteries are charged during low-demand periods (off-peak) and discharged during high-demand periods (peak) to increase the available electricity delivered to users. Electricity storage helps meet the power demands without bringing new power plants online, satisfying the call for energy transition away from new gas-burning power plants.
Commercial and Industrial Load Shifting
Microgrids are another use for Load Shifting. Microgrids generate their electricity with solar, Gensets, or another generation source. The produced electricity can be consumed, and the surplus is stored in a BESS in the event of an increased power demand. The Interconnect System releases the stored energy in the BESS as the demand for electricity on the microgrid increases.
