Solutions Walk-in Equipment Enclosures Three-Sided Hybrid Shelter and Racks

3-Sided Electrical Equipment Shelters

Solarcraft three-sided electrical equipment shelters are designed for outdoor installations of instrumentation cabinets, electrical cabinets, controls, and other valuable equipment requiring more protection than an exposed electrical rack. The three-sided shelter protects equipment from wind and rain. It is constructed on a galvanized steel platform base, with corners and sides of powder-coated steel 2-foot panels and an 8-foot-high peaked steel roof.

THE POWER OF QUALITY

Bus Stop Equipment Racks

We build rugged outdoor electrical equipment racks that we loosely call “Bus Stops”. A Bus Stop is a modular steel equipment frame comprised of a forklift-carry platform base, steel deck plates, notched steel upright supports, Unistrut attachment rails, with a galvannealed steel roof. The Bus Stop has been developed to save time and simplify power systems installation. Include your PLCs and communications systems for a single heavy duty installation, bypassing the headache of constructing permanent site infrastructure.

Features

  • Galvanized steel frame platform with forklift slots and lifting eyes; galvanized steel deck plates available in customized sizes
  • Galvanized or powder coated steel upright supports with notched attachment points for Unistrut rails
  • Horizontal Unistrut cross members for mounting enclosures
  • Sturdy roof construction made of Galvannealed steel with powder coat finish
  • Roof designed to withstand 90 lbs. per square foot of snow load, and 90 mph wind gusts

Ballast Block

Bases

Where required, a bus stop skid or three-sided shelter can be secured onto a pair of engineered concrete ballast blocks for stability, counter weight, and above grade installation. Two ballast blocks are sufficient for most installations; two more blocks can be added to counter extreme wind loads.

  • Engineered reinforced concrete ballast blocks for above-grade installation and stabilized foundation
  • Pivoting claw fasteners connect the platform base to ballast block with galvanized steel channel
  • External Channel is fixed to a internal framework and embedded in the concrete ballast block
